Official Launch of OTBA Mobile Announced
Members of OTBA were presented with a 'live' demonstration of OTBA Mobile at the August meeting held at Township Hall. The mobile web service was developed Bruce Kullberg, Unicom Services, an OTBA member. The demonstration included an overview of the mobile web-based service that allows anyone with a mobile phone or PDA that is web-enabled to access the membership directory, special discounts, meeting schedule, a 'What's New' section, mobile-compatible web pages, and more. OTBA Mobile is accessible worldwide.
Members of OTBA have the opportunity to 'expand' their listings on the service. All members are listed for free, and includes their name, company name, and address. Members can expand their listings to include phone number, email and web addresses for a nominal fee. There is also a program called Sponsor-A-Page, where members can gain additional exposure on the service by sponsoring pages on the service. Along with the mobile web service, Unicom Services also announced a new service called SMS (short message service), which is a text-based auto-responder type service. Since 95% of all phones are capable of sending and receiving text-based messages, this is a very fast growing marketing option for businesses. Additional information on SMS can be view here.
Currently Unicom Services is running a promotional offer for all members of OTBA. An overview of these options can be seen here. Basically for the price of a lunch, members can expand their listings for a full year to include more contact information.
